The A3 has the same cameras, screen and recording as the [A5](/product/a5-dual-lens-dashcam/): a 2K (2560 × 1440) front camera at 25 fps with a 140° view, a 720p rear camera at 25 fps with a 130° view, and a 3-inch IPS screen (640 × 360). The two models differ in their housing. Video is stored in H.264 on a microSD card of up to 512 GB.

## What the A3 does

- **Shows both views on the unit.** An installer can check the front and rear angles on the screen, and a driver can review a clip in the vehicle straight after an incident.
- **Tracks with route playback.** GPS and BeiDou positions are linked to the footage in the Traqcare app and web platform, so a route can be replayed with its video.
- **Carries voice.** A built-in microphone and speaker give two-way voice with dispatch over 4G.
- **Watches while parked.** With the ignition off, 24-hour parking monitoring records when it detects an impact or another abnormal event, and the 3-axis G-sensor locks the clip.
- **Keeps about 110 hours.** With both cameras recording at the standard bitrates, a 512 GB card holds about 110 hours before the oldest file is overwritten.
- **Updates remotely.** Firmware is updated from the card or over the air.

## Installation

- Power is 5 V through the Type-C port. The supplied cable takes 12–24 V from the vehicle, and an ACC line follows the ignition.
- Mount behind the rear-view mirror so the screen is visible without blocking the driver's view, and run the rear camera cable along the headlining.
- Connect the external GPS antenna, fit a 4G data SIM and a microSD card of Class 10 or faster, and pair the device in the app.
- 4G bands: FDD B1/3/5/8 and TDD B38/39/40/41. Check that your carrier uses them.
- Seven keys and a reset button operate the menus.

## FAQ

### What is the difference between the A3 and the A5?

The housing. Both have the same 2K front and 720p rear cameras, 3-inch IPS screen, 4G, GPS and 512 GB microSD support. Ask us for the dimensions of each if mounting space is tight.

### How many hours of video does the A3 keep?

About 110 hours on a 512 GB card with both cameras recording, at the standard 7 Mbps for 2K plus 3 Mbps for 720p. Loop recording then overwrites the oldest file.

### Does the A3 have ADAS or driver monitoring?

No. The A3 has no AI safety functions. For ADAS and DMS, choose the [D9](/product/d9-dual-lens-dashcam/).

### Does the A3 record while the vehicle is parked?

Yes. With the ignition off, 24-hour parking monitoring records when it detects an impact or another abnormal event, and the G-sensor locks the clip. The camera draws on the vehicle battery to do this, so hardwire it with a low-voltage cutoff.
