The D2 is a 4G dashcam that records the road in 2K (2560 × 1440) at 30 fps through a 135° lens. A second 1080p camera, either an infrared cabin camera or a rear camera, is optional. It has GPS and BeiDou, a Wi-Fi hotspot, 9–36 V input and takes microSD cards up to 512 GB.

The D2 is a screenless windscreen dashcam that records the road in 2K (2560 × 1440) at 30 fps through a 135° lens. That is 1.78 times the pixels of 1080p. A second camera, ordered as an option, records 1080p at 30 fps through a 125° lens: choose an infrared cabin camera or a rear camera. Video is stored in H.264 or H.265 on a microSD card of up to 512 GB.

What the D2 does

Records the road in 2K. 2560 × 1440 puts more pixels on a number plate or a road sign than 1080p does at the same distance.
Adds a second view. The optional 1080p camera covers the cabin, with infrared for night shifts, or the road behind the vehicle. It connects with a 5-metre cable.
Streams over 4G. Live video, clip download and GPS tracking are available in the Traqcare app and web platform. The Wi-Fi hotspot, on 2.4 and 5.8 GHz, transfers files to a phone at the vehicle.
Protects event clips. A 6-axis G-sensor detects an impact and locks the clip.
Shuts down safely. A supercapacitor finishes writing the file if power is cut, and delayed shutdown keeps recording for a set time after the ignition goes off.

Installation

9–36 V input, for 12 V and 24 V vehicles.
Mount on the windscreen with the 3M pad, behind the rear-view mirror and clear of the wiper sweep and the airbags.
Connect the external GPS antenna, fit a 4G data SIM and a microSD card of Class 10 or faster, then pair the device in the app.
4G bands: FDD B1/3/5/7/8/20/28 and TDD B38/40/41. Check that your carrier uses them.
The date and time are stamped on the video.

D2 questions

How many hours of video does the D2 keep?

At the standard 7 Mbps for 2K, a 512 GB card holds about 150 hours from the road camera alone, and about 96 hours with the 1080p second camera recording as well. H.265 roughly doubles both figures.

Does the D2 record the driver?

Yes, if you order it with the infrared cabin camera, which records 1080p at 30 fps. The second channel can be a rear camera instead.

Does the D2 have ADAS or driver monitoring?

No. The D2 records video and tracks the vehicle; it has no ADAS and no DMS. For those alerts, choose the [D9](/product/d9-dual-lens-dashcam/).

Which 4G bands does the D2 use?

FDD bands 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20 and 28 and TDD bands 38, 40 and 41, with 3G on WCDMA B1/5/8. Check that your carrier uses these before ordering.
