The BSD Camera is a blind-spot detection camera for trucks, buses and other large vehicles. Mounted on the side of the body, it records 1920 × 1080 on a 1/2.9-inch CMOS sensor with night vision and a viewing angle that adjusts from 120° to 170°. It runs on DC 12–24 V and connects to an MDVR.

The BSD Camera covers the area alongside a large vehicle that the driver cannot see in the mirrors. Mounted on the side of the body and connected to an MDVR, it detects road users in the blind zone, and the recorder raises a left or right blind-zone alarm.

Where it helps

Turning at junctions. Cyclists and pedestrians alongside a truck or bus are hardest to see during a nearside turn.
Lane changes. A car beside the cab or the trailer can disappear from the mirrors.
Evidence. Recording through the MDVR captures side-swipe incidents that the front and cabin cameras miss.

Installation

Mount on the vehicle side, angled towards the blind zone. Start with the side furthest from the driver.
The viewing angle adjusts from 120° to 170° to match the vehicle's length and the mounting height.
Keep the lens clean, and check its angle after body repairs or mirror adjustments.
It runs on DC 12–24 V.
The WD10 and WD11 take two BSD cameras, for the left and right blind zones. On the WD12, BSD is an option. State your MDVR model when you order.

Where is the BSD Camera mounted?

The BSD Camera mounts on the side of the vehicle body and looks along it, towards the zone the mirrors do not cover. A vehicle with one BSD camera has it on the side furthest from the driver.
